Do I need to provide my tax information?
The IRS requires us to submit a 1099-K for anyone who exceeds $600 in ticket sales within a calendar year. This regulation is not specific to FlipSeats, as it applies to selling on individual marketplaces as well.
If you sell more than $600 worth of tickets, our 3rd party payment management partner, Dwolla, will contact you to request a completed W-9. They will file the paperwork and send your 1099-K at tax time. FlipSeats never sees any information shared with Dwolla.
If you have specific questions about how your ticket sales will impact your taxes, we recommend reaching out to your certified tax professional.
