It is a one-stop shop that allows sellers to easily list tickets to games or events they can’t attend and distribute them for sale safely and simultaneously across all major marketplaces. Its user-friendly interface, real-time pricing insights, and transparent reporting allows sellers to reach buyers wherever they’re shopping and get the most out of their tickets.

Why should I list my tickets on FlipSeats instead of individual marketplaces?

Listing tickets for sale on an individual marketplace significantly decreases the visibility of your tickets and their chances of getting sold. If listing on one resale site alone, you may only reach 30% of the total market—and missing 70% (or more!) of fans who are looking for tickets on other sites.*

Listing tickets manually on multiple marketplaces comes with a host of challenges, though—the need to manage multiple logins, adjust the price in each marketplace, and the risk of double selling if tickets aren’t taken down immediately after selling on another.

FlipSeats allows you to list and price tickets safely and securely across multiple marketplaces from just a single point of management. Once tickets sell, FlipSeats instantly removes the listing from other marketplaces, transfers the ticket(s) to the buyer, and collects payment to pay out to you.

How is FlipSeats different from Ticketmaster, StubHub, and other similar sites?

FlipSeats is not a marketplace for ticket buyers. Unlike Ticketmaster, StubHub, and others, we do not have a consumer-facing interface where tickets can be purchased. FlipSeats is specifically designed for ticket sellers.

While you could list tickets for sale on an individual marketplace, your tickets will only be shown to buyers on that site, which equates to less than 30% of the total buying market.* Selling tickets through FlipSeats increases the visibility of your tickets by listing them on major marketplaces where buyers are shopping, including Ticketmaster, StubHub, Vivid Seats, Seat Geek, Gametime and others.

What marketplaces does FlipSeats partner with?

FlipSeats partners with all major secondary marketplaces, including Ticketmaster, StubHub, Vivid Seats, Seat Geek, Gametime, and several others, to maximize distribution and ensure tickets are listed for sale wherever fans are shopping.

Can I control which marketplaces my tickets are listed on?

Currently, tickets listed through FlipSeats are distributed to all marketplaces that we partner with. You are not able to select individual marketplaces. FlipSeats was designed this way to maximize the visibility of tickets to larger audiences, which can result a faster sale at a better price.

Marketplace partners include: Ticketmaster, Vivid Seats, StubHub, Seat Geek, Gametime, TickPick, Ticket Evolution, Ticket Network, and others.

What types of tickets can I list on FlipSeats?

Currently, FlipSeats only integrates with Ticketmaster Account Manager (season ticket holder accounts). Any tickets to a sporting event in your Ticketmaster Account Manager can be listed through FlipSeats, as long as the team or venue allows the option for resale (some teams have elected to turn off this ability). This includes, but is not limited, to NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS team tickets.

Do my tickets get transferred to FlipSeats when I list them?

When you list your tickets, they are temporarily transferred from your Ticketmaster account to a FlipSeats consignment account. This enables FlipSeats to manage the process of listing your tickets across multiple marketplaces. Additionally, when they sell, FlipSeats will be able to:

transfer tickets to the buyer without any hassle for you; and
take the listing down from other marketplaces automatically.

While FlipSeats holds onto your tickets during the listing period, you are still the owner of them until they sell. As long as your tickets haven’t sold yet, you can edit or cancel your listing at any time. If you cancel them, they will be transferred back to you.

What if I sell my tickets somewhere else (i.e. Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist)?

Once your tickets are listed through FlipSeats, you will not be able to transfer them to a buyer. Listing your tickets for sale through FlipSeats provides the largest audience via our network of marketplaces, eliminating the need for you to market your tickets elsewhere.

If you’d like to transfer your tickets to a friend or you decide to sell them through another means, you will have to cancel your listing in FlipSeats and accept the tickets back into your team’s season ticket holder account.

Question 9

Do I need to transfer my tickets after they sell?

Accepted Answer

Once your tickets sell, you do not need to transfer your tickets to the buyer, log back into FlipSeats, or take any additional action because FlipSeats manages the ticket transfer and payment collection on your behalf. Additionally, we remove the listing from all other marketplaces. After your ticket sells, simply sit back, relax, and wait for payment!

Note: When you make your first sale, you will need to log into FlipSeats to complete a one-time payment account set up.

How will I know when my tickets sell?

FlipSeats will alert you via email, SMS, and/or app notification when your tickets have sold.

You can also log into FlipSeats at any time to review the sale price, the amount you can expect to be paid after fees, and the anticipated payment date.

What if I decide I want to go to the event after I listed my tickets?

Accepted Answer

As long as your tickets haven’t sold yet, you may de-list your tickets at any time. Whether you decide to go to the game, give the tickets to a friend, or sell them elsewhere, canceling your ticket listing through FlipSeats is simple. When you cancel your listing, your tickets will be transferred from FlipSeats back to your Ticketmaster Account Manager, where you will be able use or transfer them.

Do you price my tickets for me?

FlipSeats’ optional feature, Pro Pricing, enables your tickets to be priced by our professional pricing team, allowing ticket sellers to be hands off with their listing. With Pro Pricing, sellers can have peace of mind that their tickets are always priced competitively to sell at the best price based on current market conditions.

It’s important to note, however, that our pricing teams do not control the market and cannot guarantee tickets will sell. Also, this may mean that your tickets sell for less than face value—especially as the game gets close and ticket prices naturally start to drop.

If using this feature, you will receive notifications of price changes so you always know what your tickets are listed for. If your tickets are set at a price you disagree with, you will have the option to cancel your listing or manually set your own price.

Do you provide pricing recommendations?

At this time, FlipSeats does not provide pricing recommendations. To help ticket sellers research competitive market prices, FlipSeats provides deep links from within the ticket listing workflow. These links will take you to your exact event on Ticketmaster and/or Vivid Seats. From there, you can view other seats for sale in your section or identify those with a comparable view/distance to the action.

What is Pro Pricing?

Pro Pricing, an exclusive feature of FlipSeats, allows users to remain competitive with ticket prices without having to continually log in, research, and reprice. If you choose to turn Pro Pricing on when listing your tickets for sale, FlipSeats will manage all repricing until your tickets sell. Our pricing team has over 20 years of experience and will work hard to get your tickets sold at the best price.

You will receive an email each time your ticket prices change, so you’ll always know the list price of your tickets. Don’t like the price that was set? Simply turn off Pro Pricing and set your own price. You also have the option to cancel the listing entirely.

What payment methods do you offer?

Payments are made via ACH through our 3rd party partner. When your tickets sell, you will be prompted to securely connect your bank account through Plaid. Payments will be deposited directly into your account 5-8 days after the event occurs.

FlipSeats never sees or has access to your bank information, as the connection and ACH transfer happens securely through our 3rd party partner.

Does FlipSeats charge a fee to list tickets?

Accepted Answer

There is no upfront cost to use FlipSeats and list tickets across our network of marketplaces. However, we do charge a fee once tickets sell, which is equal to or competitive with fees you’d experience from selling on an individual marketplace.

Our fee is based on a percentage of the total sale and is outlined in our terms and conditions. To provide the utmost transparency and help you best plan your ticket pricing strategy, your payout amount is automatically calculated when pricing tickets. You’ll know exactly what your payout will be before ever listing your tickets—no surprises.

Do I need to provide my tax information?

The IRS requires us to submit a 1099-K for anyone who exceeds $600 in ticket sales within a calendar year. This regulation is not specific to FlipSeats, as it applies to selling on individual marketplaces as well.

If you sell more than $600 worth of tickets, our 3rd party payment management partner, Dwolla, will contact you to request a completed W-9. They will file the paperwork and send your 1099-K at tax time. FlipSeats never sees any information shared with Dwolla.

Can I sell my tickets outside my team’s marketplace app?

Every team has different restrictions and guidelines for season ticket holders regarding how and where they sell their tickets. It is the responsibility of the ticket holder to know what their team’s terms are. By listing tickets through FlipSeats, each seller acknowledges that they are able to sell their tickets.

How do you protect my data?

We protect all data entered into FlipSeats, including ticketing accounts and banking credentials.

When you link your ticketing accounts in FlipSeats, your account credentials are securely stored and used only to display your ticket inventory and facilitate transfers when you list and/or sell your tickets. You retain ownership of your tickets unless they sell.

We use trusted, best-in-class financial partners to manage all payments, ensuring that your data is secure. FlipSeats does not have access to your sensitive banking information and we do not store it within our systems.

Can I buy tickets on FlipSeats?

FlipSeats is not a marketplace for fans looking to buy tickets. You won’t find any tickets for sale on our app.
