Selling Tickets on FlipSeats: Answers to the 7 Most Common Questions
If you’re thinking about selling tickets on FlipSeats, you may have a few questions. From marketplace distribution to pricing, parking passes, and fees, our support team hears many of the same questions from new sellers.
To help you get the most out of your ticket sales, we’ve rounded up the seven questions we’re asked most often, along with the answers, so you can confidently start selling tickets on FlipSeats.
What Marketplaces Are My Tickets Listed On?
One of the biggest advantages of selling tickets on FlipSeats is that you only have to create your listing once and it will automatically push out to all major ticket marketplaces where fans are already shopping.
Today, that includes:
- Ticketmaster
- StubHub
- SeatGeek
- Vivid Seats
- Gametime
- TickPick
- Ticket Evolution
- Ticket Network
We even distribute your listings to smaller niche marketplaces you may have never heard of, which expands your reach beyond just the biggest ticket resale sites.
The goal is to give your tickets the widest possible exposure without requiring you to manage multiple listings or accounts. Once your tickets sell, FlipSeats automatically removes the listing from the other marketplaces, transfers the tickets to the buyer, and processes the payment. There’s nothing more you need to do.
Why Are My FlipSeats Listings More Expensive on Marketplaces?
This is one of the most common questions we receive from people selling tickets on FlipSeats, and it’s not actually something unique to FlipSeats. Instead, it’s the result of an industry-wide shift requiring ticket marketplaces to display the all-in price to buyers.
The price you enter in FlipSeats is your selling price—the amount used to calculate your payout and the price we send to each marketplace. Ticket marketplaces then add their own buyer-facing service fees when displaying the ticket to shoppers.
For example, if you list your ticket for $100, a marketplace may display it for $115–$130, depending on that marketplace’s fees.
These additional charges are determined entirely by each marketplace and go directly to them—not to FlipSeats. Since every marketplace has its own fee structure, buyers may see slightly different prices across marketplaces, even though your selling price stays the same.
Whether you’re selling tickets on FlipSeats or listing directly on a marketplace yourself, buyers will always be shown the marketplace’s all-in price rather than your original list price. Your selling price doesn’t change; the marketplace is simply displaying the total price the buyer will pay.
Can I Sell Concert Tickets on FlipSeats?
FlipSeats was built specifically for season ticket holders, so our primary focus is helping users sell sporting event tickets from supported Ticketmaster Account Manager accounts. We do not support general concert ticket resale.
However, occasionally, concert tickets are managed within season ticket accounts. If you have concert tickets that are managed in Ticketmaster Account Manager and the resale functionality has been enabled for those tickets, you may be able to sell them through FlipSeats.
Because concert resale policies vary by venue, promoter, artist, and marketplace, we can’t guarantee concerts can be listed through FlipSeats.
Can I Sell Parking Passes on FlipSeats?
If your parking passes are managed through your Ticketmaster Account Manager and your team has enabled resale for parking, the passes should sync alongside your event tickets and may be eligible to list through FlipSeats.
However, parking passes must be created as a separate listing, as FlipSeats does not currently support bundling parking passes with event tickets.
If you don’t see your parking passes available to list in FlipSeats, it’s likely because parking pass resale isn’t supported for that specific event or team.
Can I Cancel My FlipSeats Listing?
With FlipSeats, you remain in control of your tickets. Need to cancel your listing? No problem.
We know plans change. Whether you decide to attend the game yourself or share your tickets with a friend, you can cancel your listing at any time—as long as your tickets haven’t sold yet.
Once canceled, FlipSeats automatically removes your listing from marketplaces and transfers your tickets back to your season ticket account.
Related Question: How long does it take for my canceled listing to return to my account?
In most cases, your tickets are transferred back to your Ticketmaster Account Manager account within 10 minutes. Rarely, a transfer may become stuck in a pending status. If a transfer does get stuck, we have automated alerts that notify our team so we can quickly intervene and get your tickets back to you.
Once the transfer is complete, you’ll receive an email from Ticketmaster notifying you that your tickets are ready to accept. Simply accept the transfer, and your tickets will once again be available for you to use, relist, or transfer to someone else.
How Does FlipSeats Pro Pricing Determine My Listing Price?
Pro Pricing is an optional service available when selling tickets on FlipSeats that allows our professional pricing team to manage your list prices for you.
Rather than relying solely on algorithms, our pricing specialists evaluate factors such as:
- Current marketplace pricing
- Supply and demand
- Historical sales data
- Time remaining before the event
- Comparable seat locations
- Overall market trends
Their goal is to maximize your return while keeping your tickets competitively priced as the market changes.
Even when using Pro Pricing, you remain in control of your tickets:
- Set a minimum price so your tickets never sell below the amount you’re comfortable with.
- Receive notifications whenever your pricing changes so you always know what your tickets are listed for.
- Turn Pro Pricing off or cancel your listing at any time if you decide you’d rather manage your pricing yourself.
Best of all, Pro Pricing is included at no additional cost.
What Fees Should I Expect When Selling Tickets on FlipSeats?
FlipSeats charges a flat transaction fee only when your tickets sell. This all-inclusive fee covers FlipSeats services and marketplace fees, which means it won’t change based on which marketplace your tickets sell through.
When setting your list price, you’ll be shown what your payout will be when your tickets sell, so you’ll know exactly what to expect when selling tickets on FlipSeats.
- No upfront listing fees
- No separate Pro Pricing fee
- No additional marketplace fees
Related Question: When will I be paid?
Payouts are processed 5–8 business days after the event and are automatically deposited into your bank account via our integration with Plaid.
You’ll receive an email notification when your payment has been sent, and you can also track your payments directly within the FlipSeats app.
